Meditation
English Poetry |
Halt, halt,
Oh thought-bird, halt;
Resist your fluttering,
Against the bar of time.
Steady, steady,
Oh mind-bird, steady;
Regain your poise,
On the edge of space.
Still, still,
Oh soul-bird, still;
Resume your flight through inward outlet,
To the choiceless reality.
Kusum.
The object whose speed has no brakes and clutches …very beautiful and realistic definition.
Meditation is doing nothing
Great poem ma’am
Loved it
Fantastic.
Feel of meditation so elegantly pictured and captured in the words of poetry.
“Oh soul-bird, still;
Resume your flight through inward outlet,
To the choiceless reality.”
which then of itself provides divine delight freedom & flexibility
Loved the poem immensely
Hearty Kudos
Hi Kusum,
you are on your favourite theme- soul and meditation.The metaphor of thought , mind and soul as fluttering bird is the common thread that leads the meditator to his inward eye. Nicely woven .
sarala
Lyrical!!
@anuradha,
Thanks for all your inter action.
Meditation is action in inaction.

@Kusum Gokarn, So very well said Kusum; very defining…yeah…medication is action in inaction…great words.
beautiful poesy … 🙂
Today I read again. Great poetry really Kusum and also true poetry. I always used to say; without using the word u are describing (here meditation) describing it and revealing all its ramifications is the sign of great poetry and true poetry…wonderful read.
@anuradha,
Thanks for your fine feed back.
‘medication’ to be corrected to ‘meditation’
Ofcourse meditation can be effective spiritual medication
for all round welbeing.
