Little bird spread its wings
looking at the horizon
wanting eagerly to touch
the blue’s of the sky.
fluttered its wings &
took a leap from the nest
feeling insecured
looked at its new home – The Sky!
began its jouney towards west
to reach the sun was its quest
it flew and flew & flew
untill darkness all around – Grew!
had to take a break, as
every nerve n bone creaked
sat on a tree, surprised
to find many, waiting and resting!
at the hint of dawn
its journey began again
floating above the ocean
seemed liked its only obsession!
days, months, years passed
little bird grew up
still flying towards west
to reach the sun at any cost!
during its journey
feeling of lonliness succumbed
somehow it began to think
where is the end of it all?
questions regarding its existence
creeped inside its heart
search to find ‘ itself’
was now begun………..

The poem leaves the reader to ponder and muse over things unsaid after reading what is said.
