To be free of stress
English Poetry |
Went to the physician,
to treat hypertension;
He prescribed some medicines,
with an advice— “ avoid stress”.
While returning home,
pondered over his advice,
Didn’t find a solution, to be precise,
an immediate one.
I have to work hard,
for my family, to feed,
to educate my children,
to meet the needs of my kith and kin.
A well wisher, in my office,
advised me to meditate
and take up yoga, to practice,
which didn’t give me solace.
After coming from the office,
I have to rush in a local train,
for a part time job, a little more to earn,
Comes home at night, late.
Meditation and yoga are not for me,
who has no time or stamina to watch a weekly movie;
“How can I avoid stress?”
mused, took a long shower bath to be free of stress.
It really did its magic, on the fray,
“Any one is there, for a try?”
I realise, it isn’t doctor’s job to release,
stress for us, to realize.
