At a  restaurant ,elite,

A little over eight,

Yesterday in the night,

to get a table , I had a long wait.

Outside ,down , in the pavement,

a family of four, in an open settlement,

floor spread made of  a thin gunny sack,

all of them clothed for name sake,

the woman rolled some rice, in to balls, from a plate,

shared it with five ,know not, any curry with, they ate.

Fifth was a dog, sick in skin,

also seems to be their  kin,

Movie posters spread ,

 they all went to bed,

and to cover themselves ,again , they had,

postures of the  shabbily clad-

 but ,for a different reason and  trade;

Before the  long wait ended,

to a  tale ,too different;my eyes opened.

Less  money and hard chores , their day ended,

no  music or cushion  they needed,

no books on ‘how to get good night ‘s sleep ‘, they read,

their curled positon , undisturbed, with mosquitoes around the head,

and heavy speeding sound of vehicles ,shows them dropped dead.

A meaningful Poem very beautifully written. Liked very much.
Good night’s sleep is godsend and it is not conditional to man made conveniences and acquisitions. In fact greed & desires for conveniences and acquisitions are often the main hindrances to good night’s sleep
