AcquainTVance ….!

I saw her and felt,
I have known her, met her somewhere,
But was unable to place, where….?.
The way she was looking, I felt sure,
She wanted me to remember,
Unable to place, I asked her.
“Have we met earlier?
Your appear so very familiar.”
To my surprise she replied “No, Sir”
“We have never met & this is quite usual,
I happen to be a TV serial actor & producer”,
“Oh! Yes, I see,” I said a bit taken aback,
“I admire your serials & acting”
My flight was just then announced,
“God bless you, I should be going”

I remembered this incident,
when soon after I saw another acquaintance.
I felt I knew her, but was unable to place,
So I kept remembering, hiding my face,
In which TV serial I might have seen this face?
Was surprised & startled, when she came face to face,
And as if badly hurt said “Uncle, what is this,
Don’t you recognize me; I am “so & so,”
And how come you have so forgotten me”
I was taken aback and said.
“Oh! I see, I am indeed extremely sorry,
Dear, you have become so charming,
I mistook you for a TV personality
of some reckoning,
& got diverted trying to search in which
serial I might have seen you acting”
I know she felt flattered, for then we chatted,
exchanged information about welfare of our families,
And I felt happy about what she was doing
quite admirably in the field of her calling…

Now a days, in many such situations,
I find myself always in quite confusion,
Can not place, whether this is a TV person
Or an acquaintance from an old association
even though I watch TV serials,
very meagerly and not so often…

Is TV viewing now redefining
what we call “an acquaintance?”
Or should we call them “AcquainTVance” ….!

    Vishvnand,
    ah blame it on TV?
    Well penned episodes.
I think this phenomenon comes to many of us early and late. Know the face but what’s the name? and vice versa.
Look on the bright side, it’s a blessing to have personally touched so many lives that sometimes the memory may struggle,
    Gion
