Anthology 2013 Entries, English Poetry

-1-

It was raining cats and dogs

Outside my dwelling,

“Weak ‘kneed”;

Ah! The roof was leaking.

I Behold

My muse were floating

and trying to touch the very feet,

Begging and crying;

Alas! I could not help ‘em

-2-

I was struggling to reach

that freedom under the guidance

Of Mother,

Trying to stand on my sore feet

and behold the play of

The harbor waves

so extreme,

through the window pane

-3-

Trees were performing

a rain dance

The sun went behind a cloud

“As dark as pitch”,

Nature went wild;

I have seen the amalgamation

of salty brook and the giant waves.

-4-

Gradually it overpowered

Us all

The brownish water,

Somewhere thick red

Somewhere salty

with lumps of dead flesh

Streaming towards the giant mouth

As if earth went into the dark to change

-5-

How eerie

Neither erudition nor religion

Could save us…

Oh! the petty closed eyes with tears,

crying  and screaming………

And I opened it

having three words on my tongue

(What an irony!!!)

“What is more beautiful?
A child on the lap of mother
or flora and fauna on nature’s lap”

salty brook- brook means a small river, here- a river full of tears
