My Son’s Arm
English Poetry |
.
Help me find an arm
with a ring signed with ‘Sun’.
As I sit besides and charm
the victory of my only son.
.
.
He lies with his head on my feet
waiting for the lullaby to run.
And true to the hope I sit
for the ‘Sun-Lit’ arm of my dear son.
.
.
I did walk through the crowded greens,
where a lady next to me, cried in myth-full bliss.
Oh god she was happy, to find the body of her only prince
and so the arm of my son remains my only wish.
.
.
He rests, tired and fast asleep
for an aftermath to burn.
let him know not of the other’s grief
let him stay for now, oh let stay my only son.
.
.
Many Proud, Many mothers, many memories sail
many tear for their sleeping one.
all in a Joy-Farewell,
though I would not let him travel, oh he is my only son.
.
.
Past a hundred days, now
and I still hunt on,
long after my son was buried,
long after he was gone.
Just then one day when the sun had lit the greens upon,
Sparkled there where,
and I could see the glimmer of my son’s arm,
waiting for my embrace.
.
.
The Poem is written for the Contest Topic – “bravey”.
It is about how a mother tries to find the cut arm of her only brave son, who has just died in the war as a brave solider.
.
Very intense and painful combination,
heart goes to the mother and the son,
for such is the bravery under today’s sun.
Kudos to you for this heartrending poem…
A lovely poem that brings out pain,
