My greatest friend, my precious priest,
For you, only you, are witness to all my reverie,
All my confessions at your doorstep have I poured,
All my pains, in you have I stored.
The salvation that you have always given,
Is the same as rains to parched lands have given.
My loves, my abhorrence, you’ve witnessed it all,
My frustrations, my desires, I have penned them all.
My sighs come out behind closed doors,
My tears are mine, not for anyone close.
Then why my sighs come out in you?
Why my tears simply flow into you?
The vastness of the skies
The lovely plumes in flight
The twinkle of the stars
The blooming of the flowers
The haze on a misty day
The glaze of the sun’s ray
The jingle of the peacock’s feather
The cool drought in rainy weather
The blessings that emanate when children are apart
The tributes to the loved ones long gone
All ideas conceived inside our heart
Brim out when the word flow would start.
Even the Divine Blessings Sublime,
Cannot be expressed without a rhyme.
My joys, how could I announce to the world
If inside me, there was no knack in formation of verse!
Emptying the Pandora’s box of bitterness,
Replacing troubles with hope and happiness.
Pouring out all pain and unfulfilled desires,
Becoming ebullient so that hope again aspires.
