English Poetry

an old poem of mine, written in college days. i don’t know what had made me so bitter then!! ha ha

nothing seems to be real

concerns, cares, and smiles

all false, all openly fake

live! How can I enmeshed

seeing all the naked faces?!

knowing the reality behind looks

dusty smoke of disgust suffocates

to live, to breath- I run

impossible it is to escape

yet life has to be spent

so there came this empty look

and heart changed to hollow stone

here I live, with no sighs of distress

as I am one in this Emptiness

The poem is indeed very beautiful. Kudos
    Liked immensely
Because of your preamble I can surely say it was a worthy pondering stage where you soon touch yourself deep within self for enlightenment and take off beautifully equipped with wisdom to face the facts of life adroitly.

“here I live, with no sighs of distress
as I am one in this Emptiness”
…such is what we call ‘the life’.
If you wish to look to feelings of distress in poetic hights please pass through Ghalib’s lane..
“Rahiye ab aisee zagah chalkar kaheen..”

    “knowing the reality behind looks

Sometimes the act of looking is the regaining of control,
