While people interject ( Limerics)
English Poetry |
One may be taken aback
while people interject words
such as “I swear”, “to be frank”
“really speaking”, “to be honest” and other assurances
without meaning them , you and I know.
They attach this sort of prefix
or suffix only to impress
the listener with a bit of charm to fix
their exhuberant identities to disperse
the slightest doubts about the credibilities.
Any one may happen
to be subjected to such tantrums
occasionally, though one dares not to condemn
purposely, their silly vows
uprooting true beliefs and ideals.

really speaking, to be frank,
This medhini’s poetry bank.
come & gain , as you can,
“interest” of charm, money of fame.
Congrats !!!
Good one, Medhini.
I swear, to be frank & really speaking as also to be honest with you, it is indeed a very nice & polite take by you on these very & such superfluous phrases always added for no blessed reason but to confuse and more so when the substance in what one wants to covey is often either nothing and/or superfluous too. The idea for writing on the subject as also the way it has been conveyed is commendable. Liked very much.
nice lines ma’am
A well packed and gift wrapped item makes it’s own weight and impression 🙂
Honestly Medhini, what a charmer! “To tell you the truth” you have presented a nice composition on interesting mannerism.
