                                   Getting out of home

                            crossing the lamp post, nearby,

                                he stood at the junction

                            waiting to snatch the poetry

                                 book that she dotted

                           solely for him, as she promised.

                              When the post man said—

                              “no post for you today”

                        in disgust, he turned his head

                 and down he sat with heavy heart, poor boy.

                        Every day, he stands at that junction

                             to receive the coveted book

                                    from the post man;

                        Continues he, invariably, this work

                            for the past two years, in vain.

                       Still, he is sure, she loves him dearly

                  and would keep up her promise, one day.

                        Only hope holds him cheerfully

                   to wait and wait until that special day.
