in disguise we meet,
two strangers, two friends.

a mask on my face and on yours,
so much better than what’s underneath.
so convenient, so exiting,
so different than whats beneath.

sometimes i wonder if we’d know each other,
had i been me and you been you.
probably not, very true.
doesn’t matter though,
we are not who we are,
never will be.
living else’s life,
meeting else’s friends.
but our true selves we’ll never see.

in disguise we meet, two strangers, two friends.

    Beautiful poem
    Liked immensely

    In the world of today
where we try to hide ourselves even from our own self
Isn’t the poetry that really reveals ourselves to all selves
