Spread about like cheap paper,
Moth eaten by pet paws,
Torn by tyre tracks, useless.
The snow reflecting light,
By times dazzling, blinding.

Distorting reality.
Mute, motionless.
Too little to hold the emboss
Of children’s creativity.
Blank canvas for an inert mind.

Cold, sterile, wet and chilling
Skin and joints and sinuses.
Pulsing with the weather fronts
Like the aches through muscles.
Driving thought before it.
