English Poetry

she is the queen of  creature’s of darkness
she has  sweet yet bitter honey as her blood
she has the blood of reptile just underneath her glowing skin
a thousand other dark creatures come down from within

you play the temptation’s lyre

oh my beautiful liar

my disease my infection
The devil speak of the ways in which she’ll manifest
angels bleed from the tainted touch of my caress
I will not contaminate to alleviate this loneliness
I now know the depths I can never reach are limitless

you play the temptation’s lyre
oh my beautiful liar

Like an innocent sheep you jump really high

Like an innocent bird you try to fly

Actually you are the devil’s advocate

And you really don’t give a damn about fate

You want joy and happiness at any cost

And you don’t care how many times you are lost

Hence you play the temptation’s lyre

Oh my beautiful liar

You don’t care how many hearts you smash

You don’t care how many you stash

You want to have your say

You want your way

Using your every asset

Removing every obstacle in your way

You must get the thing you covet

Using your every honeyed taunt

Using every dirty trick

Which your flirty brain can create

You must have your way

Hence you play the temptation’s lyre

Oh my beautiful liar

it seems you have written this poem in anger or hate which are wasted emotions…someone must have really upset you in the summer of 2008 when you wrote it.

thankz 4 reviewing this and no ma’am , it was in a feeling of being let down by all and some in paticular but now , all’s well , ends well.

    Kshitij,
at first I thought the layout wrong and there are some phrase I might word differently but that is a minor thing.
Re-reading it gives a feeling of controlled bitterness derived from a reasoned reflection.
Then with the change of layout, the lines piled on one another one gets the feeling of an out pouring of emotions – disappointment, bitterness even wistfulness “Oh my beautiful liar”.
A good treatment of lost love,
    Gion
