     World classics tell

     an umpteen number of tales

     of betrayal

     to illustrate their actions.

                     *

     Judas’ betrayal of Jesus

     for a handful of silver coins

     is deeply ingrained

     in the human minds, all over the world.

                          *

     In the denial of throne

     and kingdomof Ayodhya, terrain,

     to guileless Rama; the role well played

     by Kaikeyi against the plan executed.

                               *

     From time immemorial

     father, mother and in-laws

     son, daughter and siblings

     with envious skill

     overpower, blocking

     the progress of the other

     in tricky situations, mocking;

     Lovers hit by Cupid’s arrows too suffer.

                             *

     While virtue is at stake

     a human metamorphoses into a traitor

     and turns disloyal

     to the kin, friends or country alike.

    The principle most adopted is
    “Better betray than be betrayed
    so betrayal is less biting or bothering” 🙂

    Medhini,
    good. It is a change that from within also distorts our faces.
