“THINK ERE YOU DRINK !”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Do you drink until you happen to be on the blink ?
Think thrice ever before your glasses you clink !
Then ink a pledge never to make you deeply sink,
Lest you be so too weak to withstand even a dink;
And any trickster dares to bluff you to hoodwink;
Your body may spread here and there a bad stink;
And you are left with no argument except to wink;
You may then turn a pariah in the society to link !
BE AWARE OF THE ADVISORY DOGMA AGAINST DRINKING,
BE YOU A DRUNKARD, YOU MUST GO ALWAYS THINKING
THAT IN THE BEGINNING, A DRUNKARD DRINKS ALCOHOL,
LATER ON ALCOHOL STARTS DRINKING YOU AS DISLOYAL,
MAKING EVEN A WHIZZ LINGER ON IN LIFE BY BETRAYAL,
WORSENING HIS/HER GLORIOUS IDOLATROUS PORTRAYAL !
SO WELL WE ALWAYS SAY “EXCESS OF EVERYTHING IS BAD”,
HEAVIEST DRINKING MAY FIND DRINKER SUDDENLY DEAD !
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And so….
I drink only milk, tea, coffee, water and fruit juice
-:)
@Parespeare, Then you
shall do well ever for anything to judiciously tell !
Nice poem but it is no fault of the Drink,
Both; the people who drink a lot,
And teetotalers who preach a lot
Are the ones to blame for this, I think….
Excess of anything or everything is indeed bad
so is the excess of prohibiting others to drink
A peg a day is good for health doctors also think
Then to malign Drink isn’t good, don’t you think…..
@Vishvnand, Neither me, nor
my poem, and nay, in view of the running licensed wine shops, even the Government have envisaged prohibition of alcoholic drink ! What the poem says is only to beware of excessive
drink upto bottle-neck ! So kindly review the position and the
framework of the poem !
@ashwini kumar goswami
As you say I reviewed the poem,
Nothing in my comments contradicts what you say in the poem….
I also say excessive drinking is bad & is the fault of the person & not the drink
but dignified drinking in limits is sure a pleasure….
@Vishvnand, I meant on
my/your comment simply to clarify that the element of
prohibition nowhere is in the poem, nor in my vision, and nor
in the Government’s arena, though rather it pertains to only
teetotallers ! Sure, as you plead, “dignified drinking in limits
is a pleasure” and good for health as per medical advice,too !
But teetotallers drinking milk, lassi, fruity, juice etc., too are
enjoying no less good health ! So drinking alcohol, much or
less, may not be an advisory dogma to canvass vis-a-vis teetotalism ! May please see the comment from Pearspeare
hereinabove ! Kindly also revisit my latest response to your
comments below your poem “Who the poem belongs to…”?
@ashwini kumar goswami
Yours and mine both are opinions and beliefs and can vary & differ. One is as correct or incorrect as the other in one aspect or the other.. 🙂
Ashwini,
wise words especially when there is dodgy liquor about.
“BEWARE OF THE ADVISORY DOGMA AGAINST DRINKING,” – should this read (be aware)?,
Fergus
@Gion Gion, You are right !
The line has been modified as suggested !
