English Poetry

        Strewn  lines on the mud

        with pebbles, well played

        hopping game;

                      *

        Swam in the temple pond-

        butterfly stroke, free style

        and back stroke- mixed up all;

                             *

        Plucked small thorny fruits

        from the shrubs

        grown on the fence, munching.

                               *

        Rejoiced at  sports of football and ring tennis

         after harvest in the fields

        without complaining or grumbling.

                                *

        Happy and laudable reminiscences

        of childhood to perpetuate

        but, youth dawned leaving all to separate.

    reminiscences for sure
    A completely forgotten word & game “Ring Tennis”
    now brought back in memory so much of my joy…

    Oh, the fondness of the poem. Your fond, careful, doting style in each poem strikes me anew almost every time!
