My love is not a stream, ever rushing from me,
Nor the approach of a turbulent torrent.

She is not droplets teasing my parched lips,
Nor the cold of a swirling rain-storm.

She is not the thundering surf, crashing on my head,
Nor the alternating ebb and flow of tides.

My Love is a lake, a constant source,
Her waters murmur subtly within my heart.
