Not well enough
to perform routine functions;
Power supply goes off
for long rotten hours
to aggravate; idling
under choking house arrest.
Unbearable sweltering heat
inside and outside;
Reading about Svetlana’s
agony in her love
for Lev during the second world war
and the post world war period
when he was in prison
accusing for treason,
made all the more traumatizing
today, without electricity
for the whole day, till sunset.

Wonder how our ancestors managed without electricity.
Now we cannot bear the heat or darkness even for a few minutes and depend on generators or invertors when electricity fails.
