English Poetry

A baby is born,

worn out of shyness,

cries with mouth wide open

not aware of intense grief.

Neither it knows

sublime happiness nor

sinks in sharp agony,

hatred, lust and passion

with  eyes closed often .

Not knowing the depth

of thoughts, it smiles,

turns, moves, crawls

and holds your fingers

as the days go on.

So innocent and bleak,

turns not to avarice or revenge

but simply welcomes

the world sans prejudice.

    A good one.

A poem with lot many expressive words.

reminds me of Andy Croft’s words:
“Poetry, like emotion, is something you can feel but not
touch. It allows for the expression of emotion in the most
    vivid, concentrated and memorable ways….”
