PARANOID
English Poetry |
It’s all happening again!
I tried to step forward…jerked back,
damn scared
Cried, “I’m sinking…I’m sinking…
Slipping sands! Oh bloody
slipping sands!”
“No! it is our road, city road,
blacktopped, and it’s a pot-hole
with yesterday’s rain water.”
My friend looked at me watchfully.
Someone cried aloud…I heard,
Yes I heard so clearly…
”Wild fire! Wild fire!
Run away! Run away!”
I looked around…my eyes dazzled
Everything looked hazy
“Aren’t those trees burning!?”I asked him.
“They are buildings…no burning
there” He said.
My eyes started burning…
throat feeling dry…
some nasty smell…
I coughed and retched and
maintained
“No! There, the forest burning!”
Something freaked past me.
I shouted, “There the wild jackal!”
“No! It’s a cycle” He said dryly.
I retched again…
This time I vomited…
“Don’t you see what I do?”
This time I asked beggingly.
“NO!” He smiled.
His smile has no life…
He’s looking pathetic…
miserable…
He added…
“May be after two more such
attacks and some more bloodshed!!

I, he, she, they and everyone soon
become paranoid for sure!”)
chhayaaon se ladne vale dhoop kahan bardasht karen.
jo khud unko kha jati hai fasal vahi khud kaasht karen.
Elegant take on hopelessly proliferating ugly gruesome situations
possibly paranoia is already manifest profusely in all directions…
adding to the confusion…
Hearty commends for this take & elucidation.
Very vivid description of a frightening phase.
Kusum
Very scary picture indeed. A different take on the existing scenario.
