English Poetry

What magic in those marbles
Love for tops was supreme
Imagination flew like a kite
Gilli danda, crème de la crème

Hide & seek was a delight
Kabaddi, one more joy
Bat ball every boys dream
7 tiles was another toy

Somewhere along the way
TV spread its tentacles around
Outdoor was now a big no
We forgot to play on a ground

Unaware, the computer sneaked in
And desktop became the rogue
Till one day laptops appeared
And Internet was in vogue

Pagers lived a short life
Cell phones were dear to use
But then in the blink of an eye
There was no time to muse

Now most things are passé
The cell is now the smartest
All the games, in your hand
Connections made the fastest

Its now Facebook & Twitter
WhatsApp & sms rule our life
The cyber world we live, someday
We’ll be, Virtual husband & wife

  2. kusum says:

Very good thought. I agree.Remember our good old childhood days.
So many of outdoor games in natural surroundings.Simple and economical too. That is why past generations were more healthy.

    • viju says:

Yes indeed but sometimes I wonder at d ease with which we have transformed/evolved and become tech savvy. Yes those days were more fun, care free and with nature.

  3. Vishvnand says:

A very beautiful & a telling poem on transformation
Feel sorry, the young don’t have the type of fun & games we had when we were children & young
And am in Gratitude to Almighty & technology that as senior citizens we are right age to enjoy without physical strain all these developments & fun….. 🙂

Hearty commends for the beautiful poem ….

    • Viju says:

Yes Sir, can only conclude that we have had the best of both the worlds, yet the transformation has been pretty rapid. Spin the head at times. But still cherish those good old days.

Monica, Jefferson was from Wonderland, which was a whole different world from FTL, and the curse afcetfed him differently than it did anyone else. He always remembered who he was. So maybe his daughter might not have been afcetfed in the same way everyone else was maybe she didn’t wake up when the curse was broken??The scene with Jefferson left a lot of unanswered questions. Why did his car turn over? Where was he going when he crashed? Why did he have the tea set and the stuffed bunny? Why did he run away from David? I’m leaning towards thinking that someone kidnapped Pinocchio while he was still immobilized though he may have turned all the way back into a man and walked out himself.Robin, I agree the episode was creepy, but I thought it was good kind of creepy. Tara and Princess Donna I’m going to agree more with Tara here. I think that David/Prince Charming is a relatively bland character. I think the evil characters Rumpel and Regina are the most vivid in the show, followed by the kick-ass Snow. I do find the new, feistier David more interesting than the pre-curse-breaking David the new David is not as swashbuckling as the FTL Prince and not as cowardly as the old David, but something of a combination of the two. I also like the way he’s become a reluctant leader which reminds me of some aspects of LOST (I may write more about that later). But even the new David is not as fascinating to me as Rumpel, Regina, and Snow and that may have something to do with the acting, I think Josh Dallas is doing a good job, but Robert Carlyle, Lana Parrilla, and Ginnifer Goodwin take it to a whole other level.

  8. Phatama says:

Thanks, Riles. When Regina pushed Cora tohrugh the mirror, I was absolutely sure she was sending Cora to Wonderland (to become the future Queen of Hearts). But then the ending when Cora showed up in Emma and Mary M’s pit threw me for a loop and made me doubt that Cora had really gone to Wonderland after all. But I think you’re on to something. Maybe she did go first to Wonderland and then somehow made her way (or was taken) to FTL later on.I think Storybrooke Regina was sincere, at least for a moment, in wanting to renounce magic, become a better person, and do the right thing for Henry. At first, when she was telling Henry to go with David, I thought it was a trick. But then when she almost burned the book and then changed her mind that all seemed real. I agree with you that it’s an addiction and she will inevitably relapse. But, at the same time, she really does not want to become like her mother even though she already has. So there’s an interesting tension there.

  9. Haha, shouldn’t you be charging for that kind of knowledge?!

  10. Hey, that’s powerful. Thanks for the news.

  11. Geez, that’s unbelievable. Kudos and such.

  12. So, is anything being done to fix the problem with certain videos getting stuck in the "loading" process and never playing? This has only been happening since you mucked around with the players a couple days ago.

  13. Johnson's position is to reduce government spending, including stimulus, plus cuts in the safety net plus cuts in Medicare and SocSec.How is this different from Romney? His economic plan would make the current economic situation worse not better. This is clearly ideological thinking, not based on dealing with the current situation.

  18. i found a bug in this disavow tool !I made my list and when i want to add and upload my list nothing happens.i was wondering why, because my other list upload at the first time. I spend some time and i found a solution. Your tools just dont want to submit links when they are in format: my example(domain:e-xxxążxx.xxx.pl)- the problem seems to be the Ä…,ż letters. When i removed this site from my list, then the list uploads without any errors 😉
