English Poetry

So you are celebrating
A party, is it so?
A birthday party,
An anniversary party
Or of a kind more

Or you belong to some party
The Congress or some other
That fights the elections every 5 years
Or better still you may have your own group
That you say is a party

Be that as it may
Let me tell you
That a man is born alone
And leaves the body all alone
So it is best not to be of any party

I do not belong to any party
I walk alone in life
And I shall leave alone too

You can well stick to your party
And sing the songs of joy and merriment
Forgetting your present moments in that
While I seek to live in the present

So I do not have a party
And I do not belong to any party
You may stick to your party
And lose yourself in that group
That you call a party.

I enjoy parties where people provide plenty of pun on politicians & their political parties ….! 🙂
