THE HAUNTED WOODS
English Poetry |
It was a vigilant
hour of darkness,
was sleepy and exhausted!
My upper and lower eyelids,
started hugging one another.
I had been to a resort,
for recreation in holidays,
carelessly walking by the woods,
unmindful of it being haunted.
I was horrified to detect,
my bloating eyeballs;
on hearing a strange noise,
“don’t go forward”!
All spooky things happened!
even dogs started running-out,
faster than me;
to flee from that place.
The beats of my heart,
took rest for a second;
on seeing
a lady in white saree,
footing before me.
I yelled to the
extend i could &
felt someone tapping me.
Oh! its my Mom,
tapping my shoulder
and feebly asked,
“Is your nightmare,
plagued with Ghouls?”
Good one …Liked the take on the subject & the twist…!
Do keep up
Nice poem,Aarthika.
