परिचय: कवि, आलोचक, अनुवादक डॉ अवनीश सिंह चौहान हिंदी भाषा एवं साहित्य की वेब पत्रिका— 'पूर्वाभास' और अंग्रेजी भाषा एवं साहित्य की अंतर्राष्ट्रीय शोध पत्रिका— 'क्रिएशन एण्ड क्रिटिसिज्म' के संपादक हैं। 'शब्दायन', 'गीत वसुधा', 'सहयात्री समय के', 'समकालीन गीत कोश', 'नयी सदी के गीत', 'गीत प्रसंग' 'नयी सदी के नये गीत' आदि समवेत संकलनों में आपके नवगीत और मेरी शाइन द्वारा सम्पादित अंग्रेजी कविता संग्रह 'ए स्ट्रिंग ऑफ़ वर्ड्स' एवं डॉ चारुशील एवं डॉ बिनोद मिश्रा द्वारा सम्पादित अंग्रेजी कविताओं का संकलन 'एक्जाइल्ड अमंग नेटिव्स' में आपकी रचनाएं संकलित की जा चुकी हैं। पिछले पंद्रह वर्ष से आपकी आधा दर्जन से अधिक अंग्रेजी भाषा की पुस्तकें कई विश्वविद्यालयों में पढ़ी-पढाई जा रही हैं। आपका नवगीत संग्रह 'टुकड़ा कागज़ का' साहित्य समाज में बहुत चर्चित रहा है। आपने 'बुद्धिनाथ मिश्र की रचनाधर्मिता' पुस्तक का संपादन किया है। 'वंदे ब्रज वसुंधरा' सूक्ति को आत्मसात कर जीवन जीने वाले ऐसे विलक्षण युवा रचनाकार को 'अंतर्राष्ट्रीय कविता कोश सम्मान', मिशीगन- अमेरिका से 'बुक ऑफ़ द ईयर अवार्ड', राष्ट्रीय समाचार पत्र 'राजस्थान पत्रिका' का 'सृजनात्मक साहित्य पुरस्कार', अभिव्यक्ति विश्वम् (अभिव्यक्ति एवं अनुभूति वेब पत्रिकाएं) का 'नवांकुर पुरस्कार', उत्तर प्रदेश हिन्दी संस्थान- लखनऊ का 'हरिवंशराय बच्चन युवा गीतकार सम्मान' आदि से अलंकृत किया जा चुका है। ********************************************************************************************** Dr Abnish Singh Chauhan (1979) is a bilingual poet, critic, translator and editor (Hindi and English). He had been invited to Ahemdabad International Literature Festival 2016. His significant books include Swami Vivekananda: Select Speeches, Speeches of Swami Vivekananda and Subhash Chandra Bose: A Comparative Study, King Lear : A Ctritical Study, Functional Skills in Language and Literature, Functional English, Writing Skills and The Fictional World of Arun Joshi: Paradigm Shift in Values. His deep interest in translation prompted him to translate thirty poems of B S Gautam Anurag under the title Burns Within from Hindi into English and some poems of Paddy Martin from English into Hindi. Besides Harivansh Rai Bachchan Yuva Geetkar Samman (2013) for his Hindi poetry collection Tukada Kagaz Ka from Uttar Pradesh Hindi Sansthan, Lucknow, U.P., he is the recipient of Pratham Kavita Samman (2011) from Kavita Kosh (www.kavitakosh.org), Book of the Year Award (2012) from the Think Club, Michigan, USA, Srajnatmak Sahitya Puraskar (2013) from Rajasthan Patrika, Jaipur, Rajasthan, Navankur Puraskar (2014) from Abhivyakti Vishwam, Sharjah, UAE, etc. He is managing editor at Creation and Criticism; and editor at International Journal of Higher Education and Research and a web magazine Poorvabhas. On Holi

I wish to see

your colourful leelas

in Golok Vrindavan

with Radharani and other friends.

 

I traverse to your Shri-dham

with full faith and hope

and there only darshan

BANKEY BIHARI

thronged with pujaris,

pandas and other agents

playing Holi with the devotees

in the compound.

 

They say—

YOU also live within

I search you there too

day and night

and only see

the endless darkness,

no hue.

 

O help me, my FRIEND!

to become vijantah—

one who knows YOU

and one’s unique colours of soul.
