English Poetry

I heard a rumbling like thunder roll,

On the road outside beyond the wall,

Out of the window I spied a horned beast,

Charge up the road coming from the East,

With a young lad in anxious chase,

Utter Stephen Donnelly’s immortal phase,

As the cattle raced on at quickened speed,

Ore the Golden Triangle echoed “Agreed.”

    Dear Gion
Glad to read your poem after a long gap of time.
Who is the “Home Beast” on your window you are referring to?
    What is the ‘Golden Triangle’
Explanation from you will make my understanding of your poem better.
    Best wishes
    Kusum

    Good evening/night/morning Kusum,
the “horned beast” was a cow (“beast” is a common word among farmers for live stock). We also had a bit of cold snowy weather from the east “Beast from the East” being the media/popular appellation.
The “Golden Triangle” is where I live now and I’m trying to get the term in vogue. 🙂
Country life is my theme these days aside from family and the loss of my Wife,
    warm regards,
