I’ve known your justice in my pain,

And your bounty in moments of gain.

In my days of defeat and shame,

I’ve got comfort in your name.

I’ve seen you in smiles of flowers,

In clouds and cool misty showers.

When kids run to schools in shorts,

In tears of mothers in morning hours.

Father, why not then be finite, and near,

Why not then be human and here.

When I know your love and fear,

Why you hide, and be not clear.
